This might seem a little mundane, but Kevin's home office is in a cell phone dead zone, which makes it very hard to get work done efficiently. There is cable internet access just a little ways up the street and we have been asking for the cable internet company to extend the line. Please pray for favor with whomever the decisionmakers are so we can get internet connected in this office. Thanks!

Safety and Progress in the Rain
|
There has been a LOT of rain from tropical storms this season in Nicaragua, which makes our connection with certain communities difficult. Challenges include floods, roads washed out, power and communication outages. There are a few rural communities that we have been focusing on helping with water infrastructure projects and pastoral training, especially in the El Kinal area. All of the rain makes it difficult to visit or even communicate with the people in this area, though. Pray for safety and for the Lord's timing and provision for helping these communities and sharing the love of God with them.

Wisdom and Provision for Widows and Pastor's Networks
|
|
|
Because of the war in Ukraine, basic food prices are extremely high - with no end in sight. These price increases affect the poorest, including the widows, most intensely. We want to help them, but we don't want to create ongoing unhealthy dependence. Please pray for wisdom for us to know how best to be a blessing to them.
With their congregations squeezed by surging prices, the pastors are also struggling. It is wonderful that they are eager for more Bible training, and we want to help provide that, but holding conferences costs money for transportation, food, accomodations, ... money that must come from somewhere. Once again, we want to be careful not to set up a system that is unsustainable and encourages unhealthy dependence. Please pray for the Lord's provision and for wisdom on how best to equip these pastors.

Riamugaa and other projects continue
|
|
|
Our water and sanitary infrastructure project in the Riamugaa community is progressing along nicely. We have a project in Kiangwaci that is waiting on some road construction to finish up. There are other projects in the pipeline too. Pray that people wouldn't just accept these material blessings, but that this would stir up curiousity and openness to the gospel message, which can provide the Living Water for Eternity!
